Kalp Sanghvi is a Sydney-based animation filmmaker, illustrator, and director. His from Kolkata, India. Kalp graduated from the National Institute of Design, India, in 2016. He’s a co-founder of Ghost animation collective, which was founded and established in 2016. He works with Nickelodeon, Amazon Prime, penguin books, wildlife trust of India, Sony entertainment, animal planet, doctors without borders, DLF, AR Rahman, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The animated short film he wrote and directed (Wade) was highly rated and still counts as one of the most-watched animated movies currently.

The short film got four awards and nine nominations, such as the city of Annecy award winner (2020), jury award nominee (2021) for the best animated short film, Audience award winner, for animation (2020), Animated encounters, grand prize nominee (2020) for the best animated short film, Satoshi Kon award winner (2020) for the best animated short film, golden dragon nominee (2020) for the best animated short film, grand prize nominee (2020) for International competition, best of the festival nominee (2020) for best of the festival, Off artist award winner (2020), city of Melbourne award nominee (2020) for the best short film, and youth jury prize nomination (2020) for best International short film.

He’s best known for Wade (2020) as the director and writer, die trying (2018), Ok kanmani (2015), 102 not out (2018), spirit of the forest (2022), and Farishton (2020). In a live chat with Rhea gangavkar and also in an interview, he mentioned that the animated short film (Wade), is inspired by the present condition in the Sundarbans deltas, where the sea level is high, and currently causing floods, now drowning and destroying properties. He is wondering what the future of Kolkata will be. In the Young guns competition, among 84 participants and finalists from 23 countries, Kalp Sanghvi was the only one selected from India, Young guns industry help to boost young creative people by showing casing their works, permanently putting their portfolios on their websites, helping them get connected to brands and so many other luxurious opportunities.
