Anushal Sharma is an Indian actor, assistant director, and director famously known in Bollywood. With just a few appearances on the screen and some work behind the screens, he garnered major accolades in the film industry. He played the role of Sachin in a TV series called Chi And Me. Chi and Me is a television series broadcasted on Zee TV from December 2004 to June 2006. In its one and half year of episodes, it could draw the attention of the children during those days. It is a children's entertainer and scientific TV serial in which Anshul Sharma played the role of Sachin, the main character. The story attracted every child, because in the plot, Sachin finds the egg of an alien. The alien is Chi, who turns out to be best friends with Sachin. Then Chi accompanies Sachin in many ways, and all in all, it is a good start for an actor like Anshul Sharma to enter the Hindi film industry.

In and around 2008, he joined as an assistant director under Anurag Kashyap, who was then working on the project, Dev D. One can say that Anshul Sharma is a bit lucky to be the assistant director for Dev D, because it was an outstanding hit then and it is the movie adaption of the Bengali novel, Devdas. It received many awards like National Filmfare Award, Filmfare Award, etc. and was nominated for the Best Movie at the Filmfare Awards. This flick got screened at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Anshul Sharma again worked as the assistant director under Luv Ranjan. Luv Ranjan worked as a director for Pyaar Ka Punchnama. This movie is a youth entertainer. The funny plot about the love stories of three guys with three girls attract any cinema-goer. With this movie, Anshul Sharma got exposure about how the work goes on with youth entertaining cinemas. However, in all his roles as an assistant director, he learned how the work goes on in the sets and the making of the film.

With all his experiences, Anshul Sharma directed Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga, starring Sanjay Mishra and Pragati Pandey, which released in 2013. It was a blockbuster. The entire story is on the small premise of how inflation influences the common man and his relationships in society. The Bollywood town opined that it is a message oriented film, and it reminded us of the 1970's movies, which always carried a message through the film.
