Ruturaj Dhalgade is an Indian film writer, director, and producer. His first film directing credit was on the 2012 Hindi film ‘The Guilty Misfits.’ He is the owner of RuturajD Film Productions, a production firm. EducationAt Pune's G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Ruturaj Dhalgade completed his engineering degree. His initial schooling was completed at St. Lawrence High School in Aurangabad. In his early years, Ruturaj was an engineer by trade before switching to writing and directing. In preparation for his college festivals, he had written several one-act plays and tragedies.
He wrote a few plays and dramas for theatre clubs after graduation, as well as contributing to an independent film. He has performed plays at the college, intercollegiate, and state levels in English, Hindi, and Marathi. In an intercollegiate drama competition, he took home the best actor and best scriptwriter prizes. He directed the 2017 Marathi movie ‘Devdas,’ which was the first Marathi adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s book. ‘Amidst My Own’ (2020), and ‘Slambook’ (2015), are some other works of Ruturaj that are best-known.
