Abhijeet More

Abhijeet More is an Indian film director, writer, and editor who works principally in the Hindi industry. He is best recognized for his short films Aamina (2017) and Nirodh (2019). Abhijeet More was born and raised in Pune, Maharashtra. He went to Sardar Dastur Hoshang Boys High School and studied medicine at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre. Abhijeet More served as a Casualty Medical Officer and Consulting Physician and Surgeon at various hospitals in Pune before entering the Entertainment industry.

Although being a medical doctor by qualification, Abhijeet More had a profound interest in films. To get properly trained in various aspects of filmmaking, he enrolled in the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, and studied screenplay writing. Abhijeet also had formal training in non-linear film editing. In 2016, Abhijeet started Slim Bite Eat Right, a web series creating nutritional information through unique and imaginative methods. He served as the host and editor for more than 85 episodes on healthy recipes.

In the same year, Abhijeet found Cutting Chai Pictures, a broadcasting & media production company. Eventually, he went on to direct and edit numerous short films, music videos, and TV commercials. Abhijeet More has worked as an editor in the music videos such as Eri Ali Piya Bin, EkZindagi, and Sakhi KaiseRii. Abhijeet More made his mark as a director and writer with a short film titled Aamina (2017).

It received several accolades at International Short Film Festivals, including Best Director and Best Short Film award at the Sixteen By Nine Film Festival 2017. Abhijeet More went on to direct several short films like Yugto (2017), Uthaan (2018), Nirodh (2019). Some of his works have screened at prestigious film festivals such as the 3rd Belgaum International Short Film Festival, Fake Flesh Film Fest. In 2020, Abhijeet made his debut as a feature film director with the movie Icarus (2020), starring Kiran D Patil, Nidhi Garg.

Apart from directing and editing, Abhijeet More has also appeared as an actor in some short films and television series. He featured as in supporting roles in the short drama, such as Detective Dighe (2016), Detective Giri (2016), The Fifth Day (2017), A Leap of Faith (2018). Abhijeet has also worn a producer hat as well and produce most of his short films himself. Abhijeet More hopes his short films making experience and exposure will come in handy while progressing into feature films.
