Born on May 8, 1987, in Odisha, Piyush Puty is the son of Gadadhar Puty and Padmini Puty, both National Film Award winners as Director and Producer, respectively, for the Odia feature film Puja Pain Phulatie. Piyush Puty became famous with the National Award-winning documentary Amdavad Ma Famous in 2015. It was a 30-minute documentary that captured the craze of people during the kite flying festival in Ahmedabad. It was filmed during the two Uttarayans and bagged many awards. Later, he made his first feature film Kaamyaab in 2018. His movies include Halahal, Bamfaad, Sharmaji Namkeen, Joram, Haddi, and Kachhey Limbu, and series like Decoupled, Gone Game S1, and documentaries like Tribal Scoop and Sachin- A Billion Dreams.
