Upasana Nattoji Roy

Upasana Nattoji Roy is a Creative Director, Designer, Animator, Artist, Motion Designer, and Filmmaker in Mumbai, India. She is the founder of SWITCH! – a design studio that corporates at the intersection of culture, art, and business and create short films, animation, design, packaging main titles and, commercials. Upasana has also been extraordinary in Tile designs and is on the Art of the Title as the top ten women in title design. She was also a finalist in SXSW excellence in title design. She has done her High School at Bharti Vidya Bhavan. Following her passion for art and design, she studied film, design, and animation at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad.

Upasana loves to work on pet projects dealing with culture and identity as a form of interaction with technology and new media. She is a trained Bharat Natyam and Kathak dancer and has an extensive background in bringing her heart into the business of Communication and creating experiences. She is a founding partner in Roy studio- a business design consultancy. She is the co-founder of Lil Switch – a platform that offers Create and Design thinking workshops for children and families. She is also curator of Half Fry - a monthly platform that brings creators from various fields to talk about the process and their passions.

Upasana started a career as a Producer in training for Channel V, where she worked in Channel Packaging, Assistant Producer, Animation, and Shoots. She worked as an Animation Specialist in the Animation of Shadow Chakra at the Sacred Heart Research Foundation, then as a Producer for Promos, packaging, TVCS, motion graphics at the Taj Television (Ten Sports), and as a Senior Producer at Dubai Media Incorporated- Dubai 1. Her breakthrough was when she worked as a title sequence designer, the Director Assistant, and the Screenplay Editor for a UTV spot boy film called Aage Se Right. Working as the Director Assistant, she got involved in the areas essential for taking the film from just a concept to the screen. The Titles of this Film were a finalist in the 2012 SXSW excellence in a title design competition. She worked as an Associate Director and an Animation Consultant at Blink Pictures, as a visiting faculty at whistling woods international, as Co-founder and curator of Half Fry, as a partner add Roy. Studio, and as a Moderator and Educator at Lil Switch! She has now been working as a Founder Director of SWITCH!
