Shaahid Amir

Shaahid Amir is a costume designer. He has made a unique identity in the Indian Fashion industry. From his childhood, he was always found to be creative. He used to make dresses for his sister’s dolls from unused clothes.

At Breach Candy, Mumbai, he made an exhibition of his works and, from there, he came to the limelight. He started designing clothes for actors and actresses in movies. He started working in a designer house as an in-house boutique designer. Soon he became an independent artist.

In 1993, the Mumbai riots caused huge damage to his workshop and affected negatively upon his career. But Shaahid didn’t take it as a fall, but to recover the loss, he went to London, studied fashion designing, and returned to India. Today he is one of the leading fashion designers of the country.
