Ranjit Gadgil is working as a Program Director at Parisar, located in the city of Pune, Maharashtra. Parisar is improving its efforts in research, advocacy, and outreach to promote sustainable transportation solutions. He is also a well-known social activist especially a traveling activist who aims to promote sustainable transport in Pune. He completed his Higher Secondary education at Fergusson College, Pune. He graduated with a master’s in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He completed his further studies at Cornell University and worked as an IT consultant for seven years. He also had a brief tenure working as a transport program officer in an international foundation. He currently focuses on non-motorized transport.
He was a finalist of Lead India Lead India was a television show in the form of ta >> Read More... and Programme Director of Janwani, which is an initiative taken by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture, where he launched several urban governance projects. He has supported many people’s uprisings against the Pune Municipal Corporation. He is cautious about the destructive nature of the proposals of the corporation which would even eliminate the green spaces remaining in the Queen of the Deccan, i.e., Pune. He has played a significant role in the uplifting of the standard of living in the slums, Citizens’ rights, and participatory budgeting. He mainly focuses on Clean Air Action Plans and the Safe System approach, which would neither harm the natural balance nor affect humans.
