Sylvester Fonseca is a cinematographer from India. He was born on 13 March 1986 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He graduated from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, and after that, he did a course as a cinematographer at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in 2013. His debut movie Island City(2015) was premiered at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival. The movie was released in India in September 2016 and was highly acclaimed by critics and audiences.
He was also a part of Netflix’s Sacred Games, where he gathered the limelight. He won the Filmfare OTT Award in 2020 for Best Cinematography(series) for Sacred Games Season 2. He was also a part of the crew of the feature film Manmarziyan(2019). He has also shot Netflix’s release Choked(2020). Other than this, he has shot many commercials and short films as well.Â
