Appu Prabhakar is a brilliant and prominent cinematographer in India. He was born in Kerala and did his bachelor's in technology from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut. Appu knew his interest initially, so he learned cinematography from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. He is inclined to Malayalam, Bengali, Telugu, and Nepali films.
He made his debut with the Tamil movie Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, which is a remake of a Malayalam film. He did the cinematography for a short film, Eye Test, and his work rapidly became the talk of the town. He has also worked in films like Certain Lives in Twilight, Bhalobasar Shohor, Nimtoh, Robibaar, Abhijan, and many more. Thimmarusu, Appu's film released in 2021, gathered the audience's attention and became a hit.
