Appu Prabhakar is a brilliant and prominent cinematographer in India. He was born in Kerala and did his bachelor's in technology from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut. Appu knew his interest initially, so he learned cinematography from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. He is inclined to Malayalam, Bengali, Telugu, and Nepali films.
He made his debut with the Tamil movie Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, which is a remake of a Malayalam film.
