Arjun Rao

Arjun Rao is an extremely creative and dedicated cinematographer from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He studied Biological Sciences in the 12th grade and obtained his Bachelor of Science (BSc) from 1989 to 1991 from V.R. College of Education Trunk Road, NELLORE. In 2019, Arjun Rao was awarded with the Best Cinematographer award for one of his movies, which was issued by the Rajasthan Film Festival (November 2019). This award was associated with Satish Kaushik Entertainment. Arjun Rao is a multi-linguistic personality who can speak various languages including English, Hindi, Marathi and Telugu.

He started his career as an associate cameraman with Rajshiri Productions. Later on, he worked with superstar actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan, etc. He has worked with various production houses like Balaji Telefilms, Star Plus, Zee TV etc. Apart from movies, he has worked in several TV series like UTV’s Kaheta hai Dil, Betiyaan, Milee, Mayeka, Saat Phere, Ret, Kahi toh hoga, Mohe Rang De, Bidaai, Yeh Rishta Kya Kahelata Hain, etc. One of his shows Saath Saath gained lots of appreciation and got a high TRP rate for the time being.

Arjun Rai is extremely famous for his job as cinematographer and director of photography in the movies and TV series like Bani: Ishq Da Kalma (2013), Online 24x7, Bablu Ki Babli (2023), College Kaand (2022), Shakkar Paare (2022), The return of Vijay (2022), Titan Raga (TVC), Rudra Gadh @6km (2021), Snake 18 (2021), Brainwashed (2019), Chhorriyan Chhoron Se Kam Nahi Hoti (2019), Ek Tah Aslam (2019), Romeo N Bullet (2017), Shastri Sisters (2014), Chand Chupa Badal Mein (2010), Saraswatichandra Meet & Greet (2013), Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann (2006), Maayka: Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka (2007), Viraasat (2006), Saat Phere... Alongside, he was in the camera and electrical department in the TV movies and series, including Tailing Pond (2019) as a movie operator, The Trap (2003) as an assistant cameraman, Calcutta Mail (2003) as a second assistant cameraman, One 2 Ka 4 (2001), Ghaath (2000), Josh (2000), Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge (2000), Dillagi (1999), Zakhm (1998), Ankhon Mein Tum Ho (1997), Rajkumar (1998), Jackie Shroff’s Trimurti (1995), Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Juhi Chawla, Karisma Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor’s starring movie Andaz (1994). Subsequently, as a director, his work includes The Return of Vijay (2022), Rudra Gadh @6km (2021), Snake 18, Ishq Jaam Zeher (2021), Brainwashed (2019), Ramayan (2008), Dharam Veer (2008) and the TV series Saath Saath Banayenge Ek Aashiyaan. Arjun Rao has worked in a popular music video Naina (2019) as well as a director of photography and he directed this video as well.
