Adeep Tandon

Adeep Tandon is a cinematographer by profession. He is an accidental filmmaker. He completed his schooling at Harish Chander Inter College, Varanasi (U.P.) 1962. He did his B.Sc. in zoology from Agra University in 1964. He, after his graduation, wanted to do his M.Sc. and further doctorate but, because of an instance, he landed in the field of filmmaking. He then joined a state government institute in Madras, but he wanted to learn more, and therefore he joined FILM INSTITUTE OF INDIA, ( Now FTII), PUNE, and got his diploma. There, he graduated in 1968, specializing in MOTION PICTURE PHOTOGRAPHY. He has worked in the Hindi Film Industry as Director of Photography (DOP) and Director since 1971.

In Mumbai, he shot nearly 120 Ad commercials as Director of Photography (DOP), more than 100 Documentary films, about 35 Feature films as DOP and Corporate films etc. to date. Some of his famous films are Griha Pravesh, Saaransh, Thikana, Rao Saheb, Mere Saath Chal, Censor, Jana Na Dil Se Door etc. He has done 7 feature films in Punjabi ( Directing two and as DOP 5 ), Bengali film “ Anand Niketan” as DOP. He has directed & photographed a Hindi feature Film “ NAAZUK SAA MODD,”. He is also a writer,
