Sabira Merchant is an Indian actress. She studied Liberal Arts at Finishing School, Switzerland. She is the fifth child of Goolshen and Abdulhusein M. Thariani. Later, her maternal uncle adopted her and she got surname Vazirali. She lives in Mumbai, India. Her husband is Chotu Merchant. She has trained Femina Miss Indias & Mr Indias for global contests. She has been working in this industry for the past fifty years.

She started her career in acting as a theatre artist in Bombay. In the 70s, she gained popularity through the show What's the Good Word?, which was telecasted for fifteen years on Doordarshan. In the BBC production, Six Steps to Happiness, she played the enchantress, Madame Manaeksha. She has also written a memoir, A Full Life, with Mithali Parekh, which was published in 2022. Later, she went into her training career. Her work can be seen in the documentary The World Before Her.
