Mehru Jaffar a multi-talented person. She is an author, Journalist, and actress who was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She has been working as a journalist since 1973. From Lucknow Bhartendu Natya Academy, she studied theatre science. From the University of Lucknow, she completed her Master's in English Literature. Mehru Jaffar is known for A Suitable Boy (2020), Gulabo Sitabo (2020), and Mulaqat (2022).
She also has been to the University of Vienna, where she studied Islam and also authored some religion-related books like The Book of Muhammad, The Book of Nizamuddin Aulia Mehru Jaffer, and The Book of Muinuddin Chishti. She also authored the book, A Shadow of the Past: A Short Biography of Lucknow. Her mother was also an actress in some movies whose name is Farruk Jaffar.
