Ravindra Amonkar was born in 1950 and is a Goan Theatre artist and director. He was also one of the previous vice-chairmen of Bal Bhavan Goa. Amonkar promoted children's theatre and worked with Sangeet Natak as a vice-chairman in Goa by organizing competitions, workshops, etc. He has even contributed to teaching acting in telefilms meant for children. As a director, he has had experienced positions among executive and general body committees of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Goa College of Music, Kala Academy, Sahitya Sevak Mandal, West Zone Culture (Udaipur), Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa, Saraswati Mandir.Â
He was a respected member of the state-level competitions in Goa and has judged competitions in places like Delhi and Maharashtra. He served as the resource person on almost all forums related to Goa's Theatre, including The Navrang. He has been the Chairman of the Selection Committee of the Department of Arts, State Cultural Awards - Government of Goa. He founded production houses in Goa like Vakratund, Navrang Stars, and Baalnatya Chalval (children’s stage movement).
