Madhup Sharma, a well-known radio interviewer who later transitioned to acting and lyric writing, typically performed minor roles such as police inspector, judge, lawyer, doctor, jailor, parent and manager. He acted in more than 60 films during a career lasting over 27 years. Madhup Sharma was born on 14 December; 1921 in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. He was one of Ram Sharma (Engineer) and Devki's nine children. Balkrishna Sharma, also known as "Madhup," was a poet. He began writing at the young age of seven and he had a lifelong passion for both poetry and music. He was schooled by his grandfather, a renowned Urdu and Persian scholar, until he was 13 years old, He completed his further studies at a school in Delhi.
He participated in the Bikaner Dungar College hockey team while earning his degree. His professor, Shri Narottam Das Goswami, who saw his potential and supported him while also giving him his pen name, Madhup, helped him shine. His first collection of poems, Yeh Path Anant, was published in 1946 when he was pursuing his BA at Agra University. Significant figures in Hindi literature afterward came to respect it. In reality, literary giants like Maithili Sharan Gupt, Sumitra Nandan Pant and Nirala praised his work. Several poetry conferences attracted their attention to him as well. He traveled to Bombay to write songs for Hindi films, and between 1952-53, he had the chance to write a few songs.
He was hired by All India Radio in 1954 based on the quality of his voice and has been involved with Vividh Bharati since the organization was founded in 1957. Numerous programs, including Hawa Mahal, Geeton Bhari Kahaniyan, Jai Mala, and others, were written, produced, and voiced by him. The program Jaimala - Fauji Bhaiyon Ke Liye stands out as very remarkable. In his personal life, he got married in 1948. Poonam and Abha, their two daughters, were born. He has been a dedicated student of homeopathy and acupressure since 1984, and his therapies have assisted many people in recovering from illness. The Rajasthan Sahitya Academy presented him with the Varisht Sahityakar Award. Additionally, the Priyadarshini Academy gave him a Sahitya award for his work, Andheray Ujaalay. Unfortunately, Madhup Sharma died on April 13, 2012.
