Rihaan Patel’s full name is Rihaan Ramanlal Patel. He is an Indian Gujarati filmmaker, freelance film director & producer, screenwriter, editor, stage actor, and visual effects consultant. He was born on December 6, 1988. Rihaan Patel’s place of birth is Unjha in the Mehsana district of Gujarat, India. He belongs to the farmer family, who moved from Mehsana to Ahmedabad to do business besides farming. During his high school days, he followed the unconventional path and explored his interests in philosophy, yoga, space science, spirituality, etc. Also, he was an ardent learner. He was pretty fascinated by aliens and science fiction movies since childhood. He was deeply influenced by Bollywood blockbusters movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) and Koi Mil Gaya (2003) in those days.

Then, he went to Melbourne, Australia, to start his career in the film industry. He took voluntary jobs at shooting sets in Melbourne. Rihaan Patel started his filmmaking career when he was 20. In channel 31, he featured as an actor and production assistant. After which, Rihaan Patel was invited to attend the workshops of Sarah Hallam and Samuel Johnson in Australia. After returning to India, he took training at the Shiamak Davar Institute for Performing Arts. After that, he has appeared in theatre in more than 20 stage dramas, television serials, and short films. In 2009, he got appreciation and accolades from his fellow members & faculty for the first one-minute short film of his own life. In the same year, Rihaan Patel made a short film, “The Burial of Daughters.” He received the Best Film Non-Fiction Award at the 69th International Film Festival organized by Usha Gandhi College of Management, Mumbai. The film also received second prize at the 3 rd Global Film Festival Noida, organized by the Asian Academy of Film in 2010.

During his studies at Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), he made many short films, including Dust of Orphan (2009), which received the WNET REEL 13 Audience Award. It was also screened in New York City on television Thirteen. Also, the MAAC film institute awarded him a 50% scholarship for his advanced study in the 3D Expert Program. In 2013, Rihaan Patel worked in The Climate Change Project – India Chapter. He engaged as a content analyzer and film- editing. Rihaan Patel has received many awards for his various short films, such as The Burial of Daughters (2009), My Best Friend (2011), Life Colors Purity (2011), Fading Yellow (2011), and Champal (2011).
