Govindbhai Patel is a Gujarati cinema director best known for his successes with Dhola Maru and Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya. He was born on January 11, 1943. He was from Keshod in Gujarat. He oversaw a movie hall before going into filmmaking. Goavindbhai Patel had three boys and a daughter with Chandrikaben Patel. He began making Gujarati films under the GN Films name in 1980. His first big success was Dhola Maru. Saibo Sava Lakhno, Sejal Sarju, Hiran Ne Kanthe, Patan thi Pakistan, Taro Malak Mare Jovo Chhe, Gamma Piyariyu ne Gamma Sasariyu, Dholi Taro Dhol Vage were among his later hit flicks. Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya was a financial success, grossing more than ten crore rupees. He died in Vadodara on April 15, 2015, and was cremated at the Khaswadi cremation.
