Satarupa Sanyal is a director. She was born on 12 November 1962 in Bengal. Her father is Tarun Sanyal and her mother is Mrs. Keya Sanyal. She is also an actor, producer, writer, singer, lyricist, and poet. She has worked in 10 feature films starting in 1989 with the drama movie Chandaneer. She directed a drama film in 1998 titled Anu. In 2004, she directed multiple films which were Kalo Cheetah, Assassin, Atatayee, and an action film Kalo Chita. In 2005, she directed Tanyabi's Lake. She directed the drama film Onyo Opalaa in 2015. In 2018, she directed Tobuo Basanta.
Her recent movie has been announced which is titled Prochesta. She has worked in four different short films starting from Ushagram: A journey from darkness to dawn in 2008 which was a documentary. In 2017, she worked on Naked which was a 15 minutes short drama film. In 2018, she worked on Fool for love which was a 15 min short film. Her recent short film was How About a Kiss which was released in 2020.
