The Big Bull is a crime drama scripted and directed by Kookie Vikas Gulati. Arjun Dhawan co-scripted the film along with Kookie. The film is produced by Ajay Devgan, Vikrant Sharma, Anand Pandit and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Sandeep Shirodkar scored the BGM and the songs are composed by Gaurav Dasgupta, Wily Frenzy and Mehul Vyas. The cinematography is by Vishnu Rao and the editing is by Dharmendra Sharma. The movie has Abhishek Bachchan, “Ileana D Cruz,” Nikita Dutta, Ram Kapoor, Soham Shah, Sumit Vats, Sanjeev Pandey, Mahesh Manjrekar, Lekha Prajapati, Samir Soni and Saurabh Shukla in the cast.
Hemant Shah is a stockbroker. He is a middle-class person who leads a normal life like any other commoner. When his time picks up, he uses the loopholes and becomes a bull in the stock market. When the economy changes its path, Hemant had to face the consequences. What happened to his business? Was he able to survive? The answers form the rest of the story.
Abhishek Bachchan played his role neatly and impresses. Ileana did a decent job. Soham Shah, Saurabh Shukla and Ram Kapoor fit well in the given roles.
The film is based on some real-life incidents. Although we know about some scams in the stock market, we don’t have any deep knowledge about this. So, it is hard for the team to take this vast topic and make it crisp within a couple of hours; that too with some interesting incidents to pull the audience to continue watching. The second half comes with a good narrative and the writers had put a great effort to make the movie interesting with twists and turns. The cinematography is good and the production design is excellent. Abhishek is the right choice and he fits well too. However, his character could have been developed with some more detailing.
What’s Not There?
The Big Bull comes with some good performances. Abhishek’s fans would enjoy the film for sure!
