Ben Jasper began his career as a cinematographer after receiving a BA in Film and Television from Curtin University in Western Australia in 1992. Over the next 15 years, he went from being a clapper loader to a focus puller and eventually became a second-unit DOP. He made contributions to more than 40 television programs, feature films, and commercials throughout this time. After the birth of his son Archie in 2007, Ben "retired" from assistant and 2nd unit work and focused solely on being a cinematographer. He relocated his family from Sydney, Australia, to Shanghai, China. But he later returned to Australia, where he currently has bases in Melbourne and Sydney. Throughout his career, Ben has worked on a wide range of projects and with renowned filmmakers worldwide.

For Mountain Dew and BMW, he has participated in innovative global campaigns where he has taken part in daring photo shoots, including riding motorcycles into the Grand Canyon. For American Tourister, he has also captured dramatic images at famous locations like Varanasi and even shut down Johannesburg's Central Business District for a Samsung parade. Additionally, he worked on a bizarre film for KPOP star Jolin with Wong Kar Wai and others. Ben agreed to Siddarth Anand's request to work on the 2015–16 season of the Bollywood hit " Bang Bang Click to look into! >> Read More... ," which included a car crash scene hailed as the best in fifty years by director Andy Armstrong. When Ben and Siddarth Anand got back together in 2018–19, they shot " War Click to look into! >> Read More... ," a challenging production that took place across 9 nations.

Following its release in August 2019, the film shattered box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year and entering the top 10 list of all-time highest-grossing Bollywood films. Ben's exceptional talent in cinematography has led to both nominations for and victories at various international awards ceremonies. He is regarded as an authority in the field because he has worked in more than 50 locations and on every continent. He created history by becoming the first cameraman to record a key action scene for the film "War" inside the Arctic Circle. The release of this magnificent film broke a Bollywood record by playing on more than 5000 screens.
