Vetri Season 1 is a Tamil television serial. The show is a soap opera that tells the story of a teacher called Mr. Kumar and the relationship he shares with his nine students. Kumar is a very indecisive fellow. He doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life. He doesn’t want to be just another teacher throughout his life. But his life changes when these nine students come into his life and change it forever. The other characters in the show are Pradeep who also works in the Delta secondary school where Kumar works. Pradeep is happily married and is content with his life. One day he gets a call from Mr. Krishnan who is the principal of the school. He wants to make Delta Secondary School the best school in the city and he wants some help from Pradeep. Pradeep is on his way to the school when a bunch of thugs waylays him and his life changes forever. This intrusion causes him a lot of trauma and changes him forever.

Meanwhile, Surya, a boy from the school gets disappeared out of the blue moon. His friends look for him everywhere but he is nowhere to be found. When their teacher, Mrs. Gayathri, asks the kids about the boy, they have to tell her the truth. This scares her and she decides to visit the house of Surya and see if he is hiding there. She also decides to include Surya’s parents in this as she feels they won’t be much pleased if she hides it from them. Another student from the Delta school goes missing and her name is Gayathri. Surya and Gayathri have been kidnapped by a bunch of thugs and they attempt to escape from them. They fled by using a car. The thugs follow them and this leads to a bug accident. The thugs leave as the accident site is crowded by people. They take both the students to the near hospital. Gayathri loses her life while Surya survives.

Mathi, who loves Gayathri, is devastated by this news. He blames Surya for this and accuses him of killing her. This causes a lot of rift between all of these eight friends. Their lives change forever after this event. This show airs on Vasantham, a Singaporean Tamil satellite channel which is quite famous for its unique shows.
