Idhu Oru Jananam is a Tamil drama that aired on DD Podhigai.

Lakshmi is married to Dinesh. She is a caring daughter-in-law, and her father-in-law, KSR, is very much affectionate towards her and considers her as his daughter. Lakshmi has a younger sister, Sangeetha. Lakshmi gets pregnant, and the entire family is happy. However, the doctor informs them that she has a health complication, and hence she has to abort. Dinesh is not informed about this. When her father-in-law requests Lakshmi to abort, she denies his suggestion and decides to carry. The doctor informs him that he can save only the child and not Lakshmi. Lakshmi plans to get her sister married to her husband after her death. Lakshmi overhears her husband speaking with his friend, saying that like a father and a mother, a person should have only one wife. Will she convince him? What happened to Lakshmi?
