Avalum Penthane is a Tamil drama serial on Sun TV that focuses on a young couple named Janani and Santosh. The serial portrays that neither of them is happy with their marriage and did not want the marriage in the first place. Several small fights and quarrels lead them to seek couple’s therapy from a fellow psychiatrist who advises them to her level best. The therapy sessions lead to further problems and many ups and downs in their relationship, problems which drive them apart to such an extent that they seek advice from their lawyers regarding a divorce.
When their lawyer advises them to take some time, like a year apart, and then discuss their plans regarding the divorce, they immediately take the step. But everything does not go so smoothly and they yet again face some issues. There is only so much a person can take and has the patience to do a task. What happens after this constitutes the rest of the serial.
