Unch Majha Jhoka is an Indian Marathi serial based on the life of social reformer and activist Justice Govind Ranade and his wife, Ramabai Ranade. It aired on Zee Marathi from 2012 to 2013. It is set in the period of the British Raj during the 1870s. It was the time when girls in India were not allowed to be studied. It was considered a sin in those times.
The story’s plot is about a young girl, Yamuna Kurlekar, who is married at the very young age of 11 years to Justice Govind Ranade. Justice Mahadev Ranade is a renowned person in Maharashtra. He is a Prince Graduate and is known for making many challenging decisions that were taboo. He decides to teach his wife, Ramabai, and she also starts taking lessons from him. She gradually becomes educated. How Ramabai faces obstacles in taking education from her family as well as society forms the storyline.
