Akshaya Bhingarde

AkshayaBhingarde is an Indian actress known for her work in the Hindi film industry and also for her extensive work in Marathi theatre. Akshaya is a Mumbaikar who grew up amidst the glamorous swirl of Bollywood. She is an alumnus of D.A.V. College, where she began her career with small parts in local plays. She cultivated her passion for acting and joined various theatre groups in the city.

She is known for playing the part of the strong female lead in many plays that outline cultural prejudice and social taboos. Her performance on the stage in ‘Thhashta’ was lauded by many critics and audiences alike. The play follows the narrative of two, spirited characters who bash the oppressive norms of traditional marriage and the stigma that surrounds single women.
