, the former student of the renowned Mar Ivanios College in Trivandrum, created, produced and presented the show. Abgeoth Varghese is a magazine editor and also the unit president of the Students' Federation of India.
Choonduviral means the pointer finger. The show points out the incidents that happen around. Abgeoth analyzes the happenings and gives the details in a news format. The show won three awards at the Kerala State Television Awards. Kerala Film Academy for the Kerala Ministry of Cultural Affairs selected the show as the best educational program. Along with the award, the show received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for Abgeoth for directing and Rs 15,000 for producing the show. Besides this, he won awards for the best documentary in the women and children's category and the best children’s program. These shows also brought the channel Rs 25000 cash prize, each.
The episodes that discussed the issues, including the rights of women in the sales department in commercial retail stores in Kerala and the lack of holidays for school-going kids in Kerala, won the state awards for this serial.
