Shyamambaram is a drama in Malayalam language that was created by Kumar, written by CK Sasi, and directed by Mohan Kupleri. The serial premiered on 6th February 2023 and is continuing to this day. The serial is an official remake of the Bengali serial named "Krishnakoli" and consists of only 1 season and a total of 200+ episodes as of now. Like the original serial Krishnokoli, Shyamambaram revolves around a young woman named Shyama. Shyama is depicted as a young, dark-skinned beauty who is a kind and humble person.

However, the serial also portrays the reality of the nation and the favoritism of fair over dark. Shyama being a dark-skinned woman faces several stereotypical situations regarding the colour of her skin and how she faces discrimination from a very young age. When she marries a man named Akhil she discovers that her in-laws also begin to discriminate and insult her because of her dark complexion. Akhil is portrayed as a kind and compassionate man who is a very just individual and is determined in his aim and purpose of being successful. Shyama decides to end stereotypes and hate regarding her complexion and soon finds herself on a journey toward ending social norms and prejudice.

Shyama is also a very good singer and decided to try her career in music. Initially, her mother-in-law hates her for her dark skin and is verbally racist toward her but gradually after interacting with her and spending time with her she realizes her mistake. She discovers that Shyama is truly a very kind woman and makes Akhil happy. She gradually warms up to her and welcomes her into the house as her own daughter. Shyama is moved by this development and soon gets the support she needs in order to become successful. How she manages to go against a stereotypical society is what shall be portrayed in the next episodes.
