Cliffhanger is a South Korean TV series with a mystery thriller genre. It is scheduled for the TV premiere in 2021. Kim Eun-Hee scripted the series, and Lee Eung-bok directed it. Lee Sang-Baek, Park Ho-Sik, and Kim Young-Gyu produced the series under Studio Dragon, AStory, and Baram Pictures banners. It is telecasted on TVN. This is the first TV serial shot in Jirisan National Park.

The story deals with the mountain rangers and Jirisan National Park employees. They are on a mission to rescue the trekkers, who lost their way while climbing Mount Jiri. The series also showcases the survivors, the people who visit the mountain to end their lives, and people who come to kill people. Seo Yi-Kang is the senior ranger in the park with a huge experience. She knows to navigate in the mountain, well. She partners Kang Hyun-jo. He was a captain in the military. After witnessing an incident on the mountain, he turned into a ranger.

Jun Ji-hyun plays the role as Seo Yi-kang, Ju Ji-hoon is seen as Kang Hyun-jo. Sung Dong-il plays the role, Jo Dae-jin, and Oh Jung-Se is seen as Jung Goo-young. Kim Do-Yeon plays the young Seo Yi-Kang.

Jo Han-Chul, Jeon Seok-ho, Lee Ga-sub, Go Min-si, Joo Min-Kyung, Kim Young-ok, and Yoon Ji-on play the supporting roles.

Cliffhanger is an upcoming South Korean TV series set against the beautiful, gigantic views of Mount Jiri. In this show, rangers and employees of Jirisan Nation climb through areas of the mountain to retrieve lost trekkers and save them. The drama revolves around the mystery of its visitors; some go there to kill people, and some kill themselves.

One of the characters, Seo Yi Kang, has vast experience in navigation which makes her handy in tracking down lost people. She is also the top-most guardian of the area, who gets connected up with a rookie park ranger, Kang Hyun Jo. He is a military academy graduate and was a captain in the military. He became a ranger after experiencing something horrific on the cliffs.
