Even after many years of revolution, people still face discrimination based on their skin tone. These people strive hard to pursue their dreams, which they are restricted from. This series throws light on the hardships one such dark-shaded girl faces in society. 23 years ago, in a hospital, Nakshatra and Swetha were swapped. Nakshatra grows up in her dusky hue with dreams of becoming an anchor. Her parents' fair tone hurts her each day with sharp words describing her texture. They don't accept her as who she is. These things don't make her lose her hope in life. She makes full use of every chance or opportunity she receives. She feels disheartened but doesn't give up.
She rises to prominence as an RJ for a show in which Swetha is the face of the show. Meanwhile, the owner of MPR Foods, named Bhoopathi, disguises his identity and stays in Nakshatra's house for some unknown reason. Nakshatra's voice in the show mesmerizes him, but he assumes it to be Swetha's voice. Gradually, he falls for her voice and decides to propose to her. Swetha and Nakshatra meet on a random occasion. They find out the truth about their birth. Also, Bhoopathi learns the truth about Nakshatra. Will he start loving Nakshatra, who has the voice he adored? Or, will he continue to love Swetha just as he assumed? That becomes the storyline here.
