The plot of the series revolves around the town of Mirzapur located in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.

Mirzapur is a territory of criminal activities including drug peddling and smuggling of illegal weapons ruled by the powerful Carpet Exporter as well as Mafia Don Akhandanad Tripathi colloquially referred as Kaleen Bhaiyya. His son Munna commonly known as Munna Bhaiyya is dreaming to become the succeeding ruler of Mirzapur. He uses various tricks and tries to prove his ability and convince his father but things don’t work in his favour as they ultimately lead him towards failure. Guddu wants to kill Munna and avenge the death of his younger brother and lover. Will Guddu be able to avenge the death of his brother and lover? Will Munna take over the throne of Mirzapur?
