This show belongs to ABP news, anchored by Prime Time Anchor Rumana Isar Khan. The show deals with the aim where the reporters check the education limit of the political leaders. Leaders are assessed with a few basic general knowledge questions to know their level of knowledge. The show sarcastically compares the education and general knowledge of candidates with the school students. The episode starts with the assessment of the candidates gradually one by one. The reporter volleys a few sets of basic questions on general knowledge and about political science to check the education and IQ of the respective candidates. It's a kind of survey on the literacy of various candidates who rise for nomination.
The reply to the questions depicts the illiteracy and low literacy of the respective candidates. It's astonishing to know that the operation to check the knowledge of the candidates gives us a disappointing result. The survey speaks that the knowledge and general awareness of the candidates are lower than the student of class 5th. The survey done by the channel came up with the report that in 2012, 155 MLAs entered the Assembly who were 5th passed or 12th passed. But this time 15 of them are illiterate, 64 of them are mediocre, 25 of them are 5th passed, 109 of them are 8th passed and 116 of them are Matriculated. Lastly, the show finally came to the cessation that the illiteracy rate of the rising candidates can be disadvantageous for the public.
Another Version Of This Show
Kaala Akshar Bhains Barabar is a Hindi show on the news channel ABP news. Kaala Akshar Bhains Barabar is a very unique news show where the idea is to expose the inefficiency of election candidates by candidly asking them questions regarding Indian history and politics. The show displays various clips of election candidates giving wrong answers to important questions. The point of the show, as the makers suggested, was to show how inefficient and uneducated people are given tickets to run as the candidate of a region. The show aired on the channel at 9 pm and was hosted by a bunch of different hosts such as Anurag Muskan.
While the show had a great and unique idea, it was heavily criticized by a lot of people and other news channels for being biased towards a political party and also for poking fun at underprivileged candidates. The show took names of various candidates and called them uneducated or undeserving of winning elections. This caused quite a riff against the show by many groups of people, who declared the show as propagandist because the show was launched during the election season by the channel. The people who were angry with the show stated that the show’s intentions were malicious as it demeaned other candidates from different parties and discouraged people from voting for them. This made the show extremely problematic in their eyes and they demanded the show be canceled and re-aired once the election season was off.
The makers of the show denied all these allegations and stated that the only intention of the show was to expose the poor condition of India’s Democracy. The show thus kept running quite successfully on the channel and has had two seasons altogether. The show is likely to return for another season covering candidates from the next election season. But no confirmation has been issued by the channel on any of their official platforms.
