Terah Panne means thirteen pages. The serial was a combination of thirteen stories, each depicted in two episodes. Every story was about the women in history who have either sacrificed themselves or their family to stand up for the nation. They are inspiring stories about thirteen women who beat all odds, decided to do something about the injustice that was forced upon them or the other women around them, and proved that women are no less than men.
How much ever women may do, how much ever they may sacrifice, it is always the men that are tagged heroes. The serial also featured some stories that show that the wrath of a woman could destroy kings and kingdoms. The makers of the serial wanted people to remember and thank the women who have stood up to injustice. Hema Malini played many roles - Kunti, Kaikeyi, Padmavati, Razia Sultana, Laxmibai, among others. The stories of Kasturba Gandhi, rani Chennama, Begum Hazrat Mahal were also featured on the show. Kunti is the mother of Pandavas, who, despite being wronged at every step of her life, became the pillar of strength to her children and sent them to war. Kaikeyi, the mother of Bharatha, was responsible for sending Sri Rama to aranyavasa in Ramayana.
Rani Padmavati walked into a pit of fire to prevent the evil King Aladdin Khiji from laying his perverse hand on her. Razia Sultana, the first female Muslim ruler of the Indian subcontinent, who ruled over Delhi. Jhansi Rani Laxmibai, who led a rebellion against the Britishers for ill-treating the members of our country. Kasturba Gandhi, the wife of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who stood by his husband as he led the nation to independence. Rani Chennamma, who belonged to Karnataka. She was known for her courage and bravery as she went up against the Britishers, trying to defend Mysore. Begum Hazrat Mahal, who rebelled against the British East India Company during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. These women, among others, have taught the nation that women are capable of doing a lot more than men. Be it good or be it evil, it is well within their capabilities to inflict both on people.
