Neel belongs to a Hindu Brahmin family while Chahat is a Muslim girl. Neel was not on good terms with his father, Vyas ji. But he loves his sister, Saraswati, a lot. Saraswati’s husband, Alekh, cheats on her with his sister-in-law, which Saraswati discovers. On knowing this, Alekh killed Saraswati and blamed Chahat’s father, Rahil Baig. Neel believes that Rahil Baig is the murderer of his sister, and therefore, he forces Chahat to stay in a fake marriage with him. Neel wants to find Chahat’s father to get him punished. Chahat also wants to protect her father from Neel’s rage.

Now, everyone believes that they both are married. Since Vyas ji hates Muslims, Neel tells him that Chahat is Hindu, and they both hide this fact and their fake marriage from everyone. The duo faces problems created by Alekh, Godambari (aunt of Neel), and Naveli (cousin-sister of Neel). They later face issues due to Gazala Rahil Baig (stepmother of Chahat). However, they both come closer to each other. After facing a lot of hurdles and the revelation of Chahat being a Muslim. During this time, Chahat becomes pregnant with Neel's child. Chahat makes Neel believe that she died. After months, Neel sees Chahat with Sahil and believes that Chahat deceived him. Chahat gives birth to twin babies- a boy and a girl. Neel takes the newborn boy with him when he sees that Sahil wants to sell the baby. Now, after 7 years, Neel stays with his son, Shlok and Chahat stays with her daughter, Dua. They are happy in their respective new families. But due to a tournament in Shimla, Shlok and Dua cross path each other. In this mean time, Chahat develops a bond with Shlok while a hate relationship has been developed between Neel and Dua.
