“Nirvaasit” is a Hindi drama serial originally broadcasted on Zindagi TV and later adopted by Zee5 under the name of “Zindagi ki Mehek”. The plot revolves around two characters, Shaurya and Mehek. Shaurya is a top chef who belongs to a rich and wealthy family while Mehek is a shy, introverted woman who has a deep passion for cooking. Initially, due to the clash in opinions and cooking styles, a rift is created between Shaurya and Mehek. This leads to several humiliating encounters for Mehek where every time they cross paths, Shaurya tries to get revenge on her.
With time, Shaurya gains her trust, making her fall in love with him, only to betray that trust in the worst way possible by taking credit for all of her work and presenting it to the world. Mehek, even though disappointed, tries to make him realize his love for her but after a series of events that lead to destruction for both families, she gives up. Shaurya saves her from getting raped after another set of incidents and finally realizes his love for her. They decide to get married. After a few months, Shaurya’s half-sister enters their life and tries to cause problems, and ultimately gets herself locked in prison.
While being there, she meets Shaurya’s aunt and together they break out of jail. In a series of unfortunate events, everyone falls prey to the devious plans of Shaurya’s aunt and gets killed by a bomb planted in the house. Shaurya and Mehek get shot but die after vowing to each other that they’ll return to complete their story. How they manage to do that after being reborn is what constitutes the rest of the story.
