, it shows us the magnitude of a ‘Raaga’ by classical Singers and also refers to famous bandishes, gazals, non-filmy and Hindi film songs on the same ‘Raaga’.
Presenter of the show Ustaad Shujaat Khan on beginning of every episode introduces a new ‘Raaga’, in introduction he sings the ‘movement’ (/’Chalan’) of the ‘Raag’ also with this he plays same on his Sitar and after its completion same ‘Raag’ is presented (vocal/ instrumental) in two-three different ways and along with this all famous film songs on the same’ Raaga’ are also shown. Many emerging artists, as well as new talents, have made their appearances in the show, Ustaad Shujaat Khan was nominated for the Grammy award for the best world music album for his work.

Mausiqui Ek Khoj - a program aired on DD Bharti, is hosted by Ustad Shujaat Khan, who introduces a ‘raga', every episode and plays it beautifully on his sitar. The program lays emphasis on ‘Indian Classical Music', which has been part of our country’s pride, since time immemorial. Followed by the Ustad, other performers excelling in the mentioned field, are asked to perform the same ‘raga', in two or more different ways.
Reputed film songs are also played in between, and artists have performed live, as well. Gyan Seth Productions created this, a gem of a series, in the year 2005, having 52 episodes, as mentioned by the Ustad, in one of the episodes.
