Nima Denzongpa airing on Colors TV, narrates a young and gullible girl transforming into a mature and independent woman. Living with her family in Sikkim, Nima dreamed big of becoming successful and supporting her family. She strove to study hard and find a job towards this end. But fate had other things in store for her, and she is ultimately forced to leave behind her hopes and home for the love of her life, Suresh. Nima elopes with Suresh and relocates to Mumbai; despite her genuine yearning to begin her life anew, Nima was subjected to severe forms of racial discrimination. She is even treated as if she is from another country. After arriving at Suresh’s home place, he left her with his friend so that he could sort things out with his family. But the friend was not of pure heart, and even though married, he tried to take advantage of her.

A distraught Nima leaves the house but is fortunately rescued by Suresh, who insists on marrying Nima before his mother. Though obviously displeased at his son and his lover, she reluctantly agrees to save her face, and the marriage occurs. But Nima’s trials and tribulations do not end there. From this point, the show suddenly takes a big-time leap, and the next time we meet Nima, we see her as the mother of three girls. And so many things seem to have happened in between and not the least Suresh’s marriage. His second wife, Tulika, burdens Nima and harasses her in every instance she can. She also constantly schemes against her to the point that Suresh starts doubting her honesty. Tulika deliberately fabricates accidents and blames them upon Nima. And once, after Tulika gives birth to a baby boy, Nima’s state goes from bad to worse. Unable to stand any more of the taunts, she leaves the house. From then on, it is a lonely struggle for Nima, and in the process, she discovers her voice and strength to emerge stronger. The show airs on Colors TV Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
