On their wedding day, he learns that Devaki’s 8th son will kill him. Hence, he imprisons the newly married couple and starts killing their children. However, due to God’s grace, the seventh son of Devaki was miraculously saved from her womb, making everyone believe that she suffered a miscarriage. Later, during the birth of Krishna (the 8th son), Lord Vishnu advised Vasudev to take the child to Gokul and exchange him with the daughter of Yashoda. So, when Kans tries to kill the girl, she reappears as a Goddess and informs him that the son is safe. After this revelation, Kans unsuccessfully tries to eliminate his would-be killer by torturing his sister and brother-in-law for his whereabouts, killing every newborn in his kingdom, and sending his demons to kill him. But his every effort was in vain. On the other hand, little Krishna gained a nickname, Makhan chor (Butter thief), for his antics with his friends and elder brother Balram.
The serial later touches on his other adventures, like killing Putna, dancing on the poisonous serpent, Kaliya, and many more. He danced with the milkmaids of Vrindavana (Gopis), which was called Rasalila. He later goes on to finally kill his uncle Kans, becoming the prince of the kingdom of Mathura and then the king of Dwaraka. He married Rukmini, also recognized as the Goddess Lakshmi and consort of Lord Vishnu. His story then moves forward from Mathura, Vrindavana, and Dwaraka to Hastinapur, merging with the beef of the Kauravas and Pandavas. This show covers Krishna’s life, depicting him as the epitome of perfection. Its short version was also televised on Nickelodeon India in 2009 after adding the character of a “Grandmother” as the narrator.
