Plot

In this web series, the protagonist, Nell Jackson, is framed for murder. When this happens, her life is changed drastically as she becomes the most feared in the country. The web series starts with the scene of Isambard and his gang trying to rob a carriage in the forest, but they encounter the courageous Nell Jackson, who frightens them away. Nell Jackson is back from war as a widow, and thankfully, she receives a warm reception from her father and sisters once she is home. However, this homecoming party is ruined when Thomas Blancheford crashes it. That very night, she wakes up to the fairy Billy Blind, who has been giving her superhuman powers. One day, Thomas seeks help from Robert Hennessey regarding paying his debts. Robert says that Thomas must prove himself first, which prompts Thomas to kill Nell Jackson’s father to prove himself to Robert. Thomas’s father then attempts to cover up his son’s crimes but he fails when their footman reveals the truth to Nell’s sisters. This murder is the start of Nell’s mission to avenge her father, which also leads her to the biggest adventures of her life.

Star Performance

Nell Jackson played by Louisa Harland stands out with her exceptional performance. She accurately expresses her character’s resilient nature and her ambitious personality. However, another character who truly caught my eye is the comic relief of the web series, Dillane Devereaux. Frank Dillane performed very well as Dillane Devereaux.

Analysis

The theme of female empowerment in male-dominated fields is prominent in this web series. All the cast members have performed well. Another strong theme is a theme of escapism, going against the suffocating ways of society and getting loads of adventure. The supernatural elements added to the film make it whimsical. The writing has no flaw and the pacing is also perfect.
