Super Singer Junior 1 is a music-based reality show that came on Star Vijay. The program is a Tamil one that came on every weekend between Friday and Sunday. It premiered on Indian television screens in the year of 2007. The show promised to find the sweetest voice amidst all the young ones in the entire state of Tamil Nadu. Its tagline of Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal suggested as much. The show gets its uniqueness from the fact that it got meant specifically for young children and teens. All the participants in the show were in the age bracket of six and fourteen years old.

Following a long and hard fought battle, Krishnamoorthy emerged as the ultimate winner after narrowly defeating the equally brilliant and gifted Vignesh, who had shown an unparalleled talent for singing folk music. The other finalists included Saicharan and Aparna and also proved to be fierce competition for the rest.
