Priyapetta MT is a special Malayalam felicitation news television programme which was aired on the leading and popular Malayalam entertainment channel Asianet TV. The show was aired on Asianet TV as a recorded deferred live programme on May 23, 2014 from 1:00 pm onwards in the afternoon. The program was organized by the Management of Asianet TV to pay tribute to the legendary and father figure of Malayalam film Industry Shri MT Vasudevan Nair. He is a versatile writer in Malayalam literature, a screenplay writer and a veteran film director who has gifted the audiences some of the impeccable and finest Malayalam feature films till date. This program Priyapetta MT was organized to pay tribute and acknowledge and respect Vasudevan Nair’s contribution towards the Malayalam film Industry. He was born on July 15, 1933 in the Palakkad district of Kerala and this show started off with a special coverage story of his birthplace, followed by speeches by various eminent personalities from the Malayalam film industry paying their tribute and gratitude towards MT. MT Vasudevan Nair is a chemistry graduate and shot to fame for writing short stories and winning the prize of the best short story writer at the age of 20 years only. In the programme, a live portrait of MT was also painted and his daughter Aswathy along with her husband and her dance troupe presented a special dance performance in honor of her father.
