Vanambadi, which is a Malayalam word for the bird nightingale, is an emotional drama and one of the products of Malayalam Television Industry. The makers zeroed on this name because it revolves around the life and struggles of a singer. In India, people tend to draw comparisons between a female vocalist and the nightingale bird because of its beautiful and soulful voices. M.Renjith is the creator and he took inspiration from Potol Kumar Gaanwala, a Bengali series, for the serial. It is also the official adaptation of Koyilamma, a Telugu drama and Mouna Ragam, a Tamil show.

The protagonist of this serial is Anugraha. She is a young child who loves singing and wants to pursue it as a career. However, her mother Nandini doesn't support her entirely. She has no grudge against the art form or does not doubt her daughter's talent. The reason for her behavior is her husband, Mohan Kumar. Mohan was a singer, and he deserted his family to pursue his passion and make a name within the singing circuit. The plot then traces Anugraha's struggle to convince her mother and also the other difficulties that life throws her way.
Will she brave all of them? Will Nandini make peace with her past, forgive Mohan, and let Anugraha fulfill her dreams? The audience will receive all their answers as the show will progress. Child actress Gauri Krishnan plays the singer Anugraha while Chippy Renjith and Sai Kiran Ram essay the roles of Mohan Kumar and Nandini, her parents, respectively. This was Sai Kiran's first project as a small screen actor. Besides them, Suchithra Nair and Seema G. Nair are also pivotal to the story. The makers shot it in the state of Kerala. It is currently running on Asianet TV Channel, which has telecasted more than one hundred and twenty episodes of this serial at seven in the evening. The viewers got it’s first glimpse on January 30, 2017. It is currently at the top of the TRP charts in its time slot and genre.
