“Agni” is an Assamese political drama serial that was broadcasted on Rang TV. The serial tells the story of a family which got severely affected because of pure greed for power. Mukunda, a fellow prominent politician is portrayed as a person who would do anything to obtain more power and position than anyone else and he doesn’t care if his own family is at stake or not. Meanwhile, Mukunda’s son Ayush, who had been raised by his stepmother named Rewati, had already lost his vision to justify the right and the wrong. He had been misguided from his childhood and hence has been nothing but a pet to Rewati. Aditi on the other hand is a strong young woman who knows how to stand up for herself and can’t stand injustice done to anyone. When fate brings them together, Ayush blames Aditi for a simple misunderstanding and becomes obsessed with taking revenge on her. However, Aditi fights back and doesn’t give up. As the serial advances, they gradually begin to understand each other and gradually fall in love. However, they are caught in-between all the political drama that ensues because of Mukunda and the rage of Rewati for losing her pet to Aditi. Gradually, the whole family gets involved in a lot of political and social drama that includes a roller-coaster of emotions such as love, greed, jealousy, anger and hatred which finally leads them to self destruction.
