Plot

Aasi, the son of a fisherman, is in love with Sangeetha from his childhood. She had always followed her wherever she goes. Although she was not aware of it, Sangeetha, aka Bebamma, started noticing him after some time. Aasi loves her unconditionally, without knowing the severe consequence he had to face in the form of Rayanam. Rayanam is none other than the father of Bebamma. He is the kind of person who doesn’t want to step down from his principles. What happens when Aasi – Sangeetha’s love is out of the box? Did they elope? What is Rayanam’s decision? The answers form the interesting part of the story.

Star Performance

The newcomers Vaisshnav and Kriti had done their part well. Kriti has a great future. She is good in looks and performance. Vijay Sethupathi is the show-stealer who impresses everyone with his casual performance and body language.

Analysis

The story is not new and predictable. But, the interesting part is the screenplay. The characterization, dialogues and direction are also good. The film doesn’t look like a debut for Buchi Babu and even for the lead stars. Unlike the other films of this genre, Uppena has a different climax. The performance of the stars is good.
Vijay Sethupathi is one of the biggest pluses.

Verdict

Uppena comes with a usual story but a different screenplay, performances, songs and cinematography. The film will definitely be a treat for Vijay Sethupathi fans and youngsters! It is a good treat for Valentine’s Day!
