Plot
The film has three stories. A hearing-impaired married Kamala works as a tailor, and her husband works in Dubai. She waits for her husband's arrival, even though he hadn't contacted her for long. In the next story, Ali is a cricketer and wants to get a place in the Indian cricket team. But, his grandfather doesn't like Ali to become a cricketer. The third story has two homeless kids who dream of buying cakes to celebrate their birthdays. Meanwhile, nature threatens the people in the name of floods. How are these three stories interrelated? The rest of the film reveals these.
Star Performance
Shriya did a fantastic job as a hearing impaired lady. Her body language is excellent, and her facial expressions too. Shiva Kandukuri is decent in his role, and he is good in emotional scenes. Charuhasan has done a fantastic job. Priyanka Jawalkar has a limited role, yet she has done her best.
Analysis
All the stories have a different plot. The screenplay is slow-paced. The second half has some interesting elements, including the flood scenes. The BGM by Ilaiyaraaja is terrific, and the visuals are fantastic. The characters are designed well, and the right stars are picked and placed. The production designer has done a good job. The dialogues are impressive too. The audience expected the connection between all three stories at the end, but it didn't happen.

Verdict
Gamanam has a good set of stories, actors, and direction. If the screenplay had been quicker, the film would have reached the audience better. Yet, it is watchable!
