Plot
Bangarraju (Karthik Rathnam) is a mechanic in a village who works hard to win his family’s land back. One day his life takes a turn when he is accused of murder of his enemy.
Star performance
Karthik Rathnam delivers a strong performance, and is the key that keeps this ship afloat. Satya is hilarious in his portrayal and Ravi Babu also enhances the entertainment aspect. The rest of the actors have done a decent job.
Analysis
The film is heavily influenced by the 2018 Bollywood film Andhadhun. Except Sriram Raghavan made a great concoction, and this movie is nowhere close to that, it shouldn’t be kept on that pedestal. It's not fair to compare the film but the premise and narrative are similar to the Bollywood film. Comedy crime thrillers are loved by the masses but this film struggles to balance that. The film struggles to keep the audience engaged. The screenplay lags. The cinematography and the music are top-notch. The actors have played their part well. The actors for comedic angles have done their job to keep the audience entertained, which will be debatable. Karthik Rathnam does not come across as over-the-top even though the script demands him to be; he maintains a balance to present himself in the best way possible. The supporting characters have been given the spotlight but in the entirety of the film are not utilized. Changure Bangaru Raja is a misbalanced crime comedy drama that does provide the entertainment in some instances but lacks the crime aspect.
