Plot
A cab driver is falsely accused of murder of a woman by the police and is forced to prove he’s not guilty to the police and the society.
Star performance
Kamal Kamaraju as the cab driver does a phenomenal job, shining in the emotional portions of the film significantly. Prabhaker has nailed the role of a corrupt police officer. You'd feel a sense of hate for him whenever he’s onscreen, much similar to Gaitonde in Drishyam. The rest of the actors have done a decent job.
Analysis
The film has a good premise and the performances have helped elevate the story so much but it's not enough. The director in the first half has focused on the domestic life of the driver, it's intentional to make the audience root for the lead, the investigating part starts in the second half. But the director is more focused on the family dynamics rather than the investigation which leaves a sour taste. The film from an investigative aspect leaves several loopholes. The screenplay is constantly dragged more to show the emotional struggles of the wife to the point where it disrupts the investigation. The music is commendable, the cinematography is adequate, the editing is lazily done because the film despite being only 1 hr 37 min long feels tough to finish. Even the issues it wanted to highlight come in such a haphazard way you just couldn’t care less. Sodara Sodarimanulara is a below average crime thriller that mostly restricts itself to routine scenes and focuses more on the family dynamics.
