Plot

Sandeep is a happy-go-lucky guy. He falls in love with Lavanya, a hockey player. Sandeep aims to settle abroad, but after falling in love with Lavanya, he forgets that. The sports minister tries to sell the Yanam hockey ground. Although the hockey players and the sports enthusiasts in the area are against this, the politician didn’t lend his ears to them. After Sandeep’s entry, they draft a plan to retain the hockey ground and stop the politician from selling it. Did their plan work out? The answer forms the rest of the plot.

Star Performance

Sundeep Kishan looks young and energetic and he satisfies the audience with his performances. So does, Lavanya Tripathi. Murli Sharma, as the coach, excels in his character, as usual. Rao Ramesh’s satirical dialogues, expressions and body language are fantastic.

Analysis

The film might appeal as a sports drama. But, it has a lot of emotions. A playground might appear as a piece of land for someone, but it is everything for the sportspeople. They have some emotional connection with the playground. But, the director takes time to establish the story and that tests the patience. However, the climax game sequence is neatly done. BGM by Hiphop Tamizha Adhi is good. The cinematography and editing are quite neat.

Verdict

A1 Express is a decent sports drama mixed with emotions. The movie has comedy and romance too. For the people who want to watch a different movie, unlike the regular heroic movies, this is suggested!
