Seveli is scripted and directed by Ra Anand and bankrolled by Peer Mohammad under the banner MKM Films. The film has Arvind Roshan and Keerthi Shetty in the lead roles. Ra Anand, the cinematographer, makes his debut as a director with Seveli, which deals with the bonding between a mother and a son. Arvind has played in a lot of character roles and Keerthi was last seen in Azhagarsamyin Kuthirai with “Appukutty” alias Sivabalan. It is to be noted that both the hero and the heroine had changed their names for this film. Arvind was earlier credited in the films as Sanjay and Keerthi as Advaita. The music composition is by VM Jeevan and the director handles the camera too.
Plot
Arvind longs for the mother’s love, which he didn’t get from his childhood, although his mother stays with him. Arvind sells water packets on the bus stand. Keerthi Shetty meets him while going to her college. Right from the first meet, they clash against each other. Gradually, their enmity grows into love. Although he developed a good bonding with Keerthy, Arvind yearns for mother’s love. But, his mother hates him and he couldn’t find the reason for it. Finally, to escape from him, his mother decides to get him married and chooses a girl. Although Arvind is in love with Keerthi, he decides to go with his mother’s choice, as his mother might love him, when he accepts her selection. So, he breaks his love with Keerthi. The rest of the story tells why his mother hates him.
Star Performance
Arvind Roshan has done a decent job. He has played well in the sentimental scenes. But, Arvind has to improve his acting skills in the romance scenes. Keerthi Shetty has utilized the given opportunity well and had done justice to her role.
Analysis
Seveli scripted and directed by Anand has a good script. But, the usual love track and the boring comedy sequences pull the movie backward. The director should have concentrated much on the screenplay and the narration too.

Verdict
Seveli is a complete sentimental movie with emotional scenes portrayed by the hero and his mother. Although the screenplay and narration are not impressive, the film exposes the feeling of a guy, who yearns for mother’s love.
