Antony” is said to be the first Indian claustrophobic thriller film. The thriller film is scripted and directed by Kutti Kumar. The cinematography is handled by R Balaji and the music director is R Sivatmikha. The movie is produced by Antony Productions. Christopher is the co-producer and the executive producer is Vito Vivek. The film has the star cast of “ Lal,” “ Actor Nishanth,” Actress Rekha, “ Vaishali,” Paul Michael, Sampath and Cheran Raj.

Plot

Antony, a cop finds himself trapped in a car. The car is buried and he couldn’t understand how he was trapped. Antony was about to marry his girlfriend Maha on that day and she has been waiting for him at the registrar office. Antony’s dad George and Maha started searching for him. Did they find him out? Who buried him? To know the answers watch the film in the cinema halls!

Star Performance

Lal has done the role perfectly what is given to him and similarly, Rekha did. Others have done as per the director’s order.

Analysis

The film was promoted as the first claustrophobic thriller in India. But, we have witnessed a couple of films like this including Naigal Jakiradhai and En Uyir En Kayil. Although the script sounds good, the execution is not. Some subplots in the script are irritating and the audiences feel that they are created just to drag the length. The music by the youngster is not good and she should try to improvise her BGM style. The cinematography is okayish.

What’s There?

  • The script and the star cast are good

What’s Not There?

  • Execution is not appreciable
  • The BGM is not up to the mark
  • Scenes are unnecessarily dragged

Verdict

While hearing the oneliner, we might feel that the film must be impressive. But, the execution by the director is not attractive and the film seems to be lengthened purposely. If this film had been shot as a short film, then it might have impressed the audiences.
